PCOD – An Ayurvedic Perspective
Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) is a condition that is developed generally because of the hormonal imbalance. It is believed that improper lifestyle choices and genetics determine the severity of the condition. The chilly winter, not only brings with it manageable cold and cough, but also painful throat, and tonsillitis. Salt water gargles doesn’t always prove helpful. Add 1 tsp of Yashtimadhu (glycerrhiza glabra) and pinch of turmeric to cup of water, boil the mixture, strain and add ½ tsp of salt. Gargling with this medicated water relieves throat pain and inflammation. These gargles also remove the congested cough in the throat.

TIP OF THE DAY – DAYTIME SLEEP
Now, here’s one more effective tip – which if inculcated in our daily lifestyle – helps to control weight gain : Avoid sleeping during day; this increases Kapha dosha, and in long run leads to indigestion and obesity. If you need to have rest during day, take a short nap in sitting or reclining position.
